Ixiade joins an Open Lab dedicated to innovation. A few words about the partnership with Pascal Pizelle, CEO
Who are your new partners?
The lab was first created on an initiative from CEA and ST Microelectronics in 2002, and 15 years later, in 2017, it gathers about ten prestigious partners: Adeo/Leroy Merlin, Air Liquide, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BnF), Bouygues, CEA, Engie/Suez, Isere’s department, Grenoble Ecole de Management, MAIF group.
Ixiade joined the lab in June as an expert-partner, especially about the methodologies linked to uses.
What are Ideas Laboratory’s missions?
The idea is to gather different industrial players around common themes in order to identify innovation opportunities that might benefit to all. For the founding members, it mainly aimed at identifying technological axes for the future, as a way to stay in line with the social, economic, and technological environment. Ideas Laboratory is a place that aims to inspire, imagine, prototype, and test the products and services of tomorrow on a multi-partner mode. It requires a wide open-minded spirit that enables to enrich and transform the partners’ organization to better innovate.
What is your role in the Open Lab?
It is good to remind that the Open Lab is organized around several themes: housing and cities, new types of mobility, culture and knowledge management, limited resources, food and society. Ixiade has a transversal role within the structure. We provide the industrial partners with our methodological expertise in the field of innovation based on uses and user experience (UX). Mainly, our goal is to use the huge potential of Ideas Laboratory to further improve our expertise in Uses Prospective (name it Prospective des Usages in French) and to experiment methods and tools developed in our own R&D, in particular around two of our favorite themes: the role of emotions in an innovation’s desirability and the use of digital within innovation’s methods and tools.
